The following allowed<\/span> and prohibited<\/span> development activities are define by Chapter X \u2013 Park Development Limitation<\/a><\/strong> for designated Nature Preserves<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Allowed Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • All development consistent with preserving a Nature Preserve as a natural area<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    For public access & use, the City MAY provide:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • Benches<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Boardwalks<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Interpretive displays<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Picnic facilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Sanitary facilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Trails for hiking, jogging, horseback, and bicycle riding<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Trails using ADA-compliant natural materials<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Improvements & Maintenance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \n
      • Accessible and Safe to Public<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Ecological Restoration<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Stewardship & Education<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Healthy Habitat for Wildlife<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Eliminate Invasive Species<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Restore Native Species <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Selective Tree Thinning<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Hazardous Tree Removal<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Mitigates Fire Hazards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
          \n
        • Maintain (includes maintenance, restoration, renovation & replacement) existing structures, facilities, or parking lots, roads or trails that doesn’t further impairment to natural conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Master & Management Planning:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \n
          • Implementation of pre-existing park-specific master plans adopted prior to November 3, 2021 that may specify development that would otherwise be restricted by Chapter X.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • New master & maintenance plans adhering to Chapter X development limitations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

            Prohibited Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            The City SHALL NOT construct:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              \n
            • Athletic facilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Telecommunications facilities (public & private)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Parking lots<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Roads or trails for motorized vehicles<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Asphalt & Concrete Hard-Surface Trails<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

              • Facilities or structures that would impair or be inconsistent with natural conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                The City SHALL NOT:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  \n
                • Remove any tree for the purposes of commercial logging<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • Remove any tree for the development of any Athletic facility, Telecommunications facility, parking lot, road or trail for motorized travel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
