Measure 3-568 is the result of a 100% citizen-initiated grassroots effort. This citizens measure enlisted hundreds of dedicated neighbors who generously volunteered their time and donated to our common cause to qualify our local citizen initiative petition 2020IN-1 for the ballot. Our grassroots effort persevered for 18 months, navigating a pandemic, wildfires, polarized politics, and ice storms, to inform our community about this important effort and collect over 4,800 signatures that helped us qualify for the ballot.
While we had the luxury of time (2 years) to collect petition signatures, we have a narrow window to reach voters BEFORE ballots show up in mailboxes around mid-October. As we learned while petitioning, grassroots campaigns like ours also require funding to reach, educate, and inform voters. Since City Council has referred a competing measure with insufficient protections to the ballot, our campaign fundraising goal is aggressive to ensure we have an informed Lake Oswego electorate.

DID YOU KNOW – OREGON HAS A POLITICAL TAX CREDIT! USE IT TO HELP US GET MEASURE 3-568 PASSED.
The Oregon tax system allows most Oregon voters a political tax credit. This is a dollar-for-dollar tax credit you can take once per year on your state tax return.
By donating $50 per person/$100 per taxpaying couple for individuals earning less than $100K (single filer) or $200K (joint filer) – you can use this tax credit to reduce your taxable income to the State of Oregon. If you qualify to use the tax credit, it won’t cost you to help our campaign.
Per Oregon law, a Political Committee has been established to accept and track contributions and expenditures to support Measure 3-568: LoveLOParks PAC. Donations are not tax deductible to the donor but are exempt from taxation by the Political Committee.
