OUR VISION
A Lake Oswego that elevates and retains the beauty of our City’s natural surroundings through thoughtful and careful development policies.
OUR MISSION
To support and influence policies, organizations, and candidates that advocate and advance protecting, preserving and maintaining Lake Oswego’s natural environment.
OUR HISTORY
LoveLOParks recently brought Measure 3-568 to the ballot after an 18 month citizen initiative petition (2020IN-1) effort. Measure 3-568 received a 62% majority voter in the November 2, 2021 Special Election. Measure 3-568 amended the Lake Oswego City Charter with Chapter X – Park Development Limitation, thereby enacting significant land use regulations that insure that all development in a Lake Oswego Nature Preserve is consistent with preserving a Nature Preserve as natural area available for public enjoyment. DID YOU KNOW? OREGON HAS A POLITICAL TAX CREDIT!
Oregon offers a unique Political Tax Credit to all taxpayers making under $75,000 per individual, or under $150,000 for joint-filing couples.
The credit is simple — qualifying Oregon taxpayers can give up to $50 per year (or $100 for joint-filing couples) to a political committee, and receive the full amount as a credit subtracted from your Oregon state taxes when you file.
It’s like a free $50 donation (or $100 for joint-filing couples), and it’s an important way to keep Oregon’s elections powered by grassroots supporters like you.
You can qualify if:
- You are an Oregon resident
- You will submit an Oregon tax return for 2024
- You will make less than $75,000 in 2024 (or $150,000 for joint-filing couples)
Per Oregon law, a Political Committee has been established to accept and track contributions and expenditures toward Lake Oswego public policies and candidates aligned with our objective to protect our natural parks as natural habitats: LoveLOParks PAC (21578). Donations are not tax deductible to the donor but are exempt from taxation by the Political Committee.
